Remnant

Here’s my character submission for the Decepticon Club,
If he gets in he'll My first RPG and the second Transformer I have ever drawn

Name: Remnant
Function: Guardian of Cybertron; storyteller; and TA at the local academy
Gender: Male
Size: Fairly good-sized, he stands about a head and shoulders taller than his boss.
Age: Extremely old, so far as he can tell he’s the oldest bot he knows
Alt Mode: The Cybertronian equivalent to an armored van

Strengths: Like an old car, Remnant’s build is more robust than some of his younger colleagues. He is able to sustain a great deal of physical damage, and is extremely resistant (but not immune) to energon powered and directed-energy weapons. Because of his old age he is less susceptible to viruses and the like because his software is comparatively outdated. Back before he was a soldier, Remnant’s original designation was a miner, specifically one who hauled ore to the surface. Such a job required great strength and even now, despite his age, he is still capable of lifting and carrying several times his own weight.

Weaknesses: But with age comes its own set of disadvantages. Besides requiring twice as much fuel as his younger colleagues, Remnant’s joints suffer from chronic rust making him slow-moving and irritable. He is susceptible to extreme heat and cold, since both cause his joints to lock-up. Multiple bouts of Cosmic Rust have completely ravaged Remnant’s body. Besides marring his appearance, the Cosmic Rust has taken away his ability to transform, and left some spots in his armor much thinner than others, in a sense covering his body with an untold number of Achilles’ heels.

Armament:
-Two Heavy Blades: One for each arm. They are a physical part of his body, and are retractable at will. He keeps their surfaces highly polished so that they can be used to reflect certain directed-energy attacks back at their owners.
-Laser Rifle: (reasonable high powered) He never has this on him, and when he does it’s mostly for show since he rarely uses it (He has terrible aim).

Personality: Brusque, reserved, indifferent, dependable, loyal, overbearing sense of duty, down-to-earth, overprotective (particularly of sparklings), resigned, self-sacrificing, tries hard not to stand out, touchy, proud, stubborn, old-fashioned, direct, orderly, and surprisingly patient and chivalrous for a Decepticon.

Despite having fought for Megatron’s cause since the beginning, Remnant is actually more loyal to Shockwave. Remnant appreciates his logical approach and believes that out of all the leaders Shockwave is the most competent and would make a better leader than even Megatron himself.

Remnant dreads the day when he outlives his usefulness and becomes considered too old to be of any value to the Decepticon cause. As one might imagine, ‘retirement’ in Decepticon terms is probably not a good thing.

There is nothing Remnant wants more than for the war to be over. He is tired of fighting and honestly couldn’t care who wins anymore. He fights now only to protect his allies, since as he sees it, they are the only things that are worth dying for anymore.

Likes: history, collecting drinking songs, sparklings, telling stories, listening to stories, having, chrome shavings (he puts them on everything food related), being scratched behind the ear and simple things, anything harder to operate than a flashlight frustrates him.

Dislikes: cracks about his appearance, anybot who flies (particularly seekers), becoming the center of attention, flying & heights (he likes having both feet on solid ground), doctors, being condescended to or pitied, anyone who calls him: “Burnout”, “Scrapheap” and “Groundpounder”.

Background: Too long to recount, (ask him sometime, he loves telling stories )

Other: Remnant has a deep gravelly voice due to damage from Cosmic Rust. He also has a set of hand hold on his back from when he carried medics into battle. Now he’s just used as a taxi for anyone who can hang on long enough.
